SCHOOL YEAR KICK OFF

Well, this was the week that teachers everywhere go back to school for professional development and get ready for the new school year.  I had the opportunity to present during PD at a few schools this week, and it was such a great experience!

Monday I visited Carson City – Crystal Schools  and presented to their district staff who were so welcoming.  They are doing some wonderful things there and have a lot to be proud of!

Tuesday I presented at my school about the teacher of the year process, shared an inspirational letter I wrote, and talked about lesson planning through the use of an instructional template.   I have wonderful co-workers and we are ready to start a great year!

I also went to Alger Middle School and presented on “Using Data to Drive Instruction” and “Rituals, Routines and Relationships”.   They were a great group, and I was excited to have a chance to present to them (they are our feeder school).

My last presentation was Thursday where I went to St. Ann Elementary School in Cadillac, the school I went to (many, many years ago).  It was really exciting to be back at the school that I credit so much of my work ethic and strong educational background to.

It was a long week in addition to going to PD myself, but it was also a great week were everyone was focused on ways to reach more students and increase achievement in our schools.

The teachers I presented to were so receptive and wonderful.  I want to share a wonderful comment written by a teacher from St. Ann school that touched me deeply…

The entire staff at st ann school (especially me!) were very impressed with the pd presentation you shared with us this week! I see why you have been chosen for such incredible awards! Bobbi Jo the ideas you gave me will not be forgotten; they actually ‘haunt’ me- but in a VERY VERY VERY inspirational way! thank you!

We all need to continue as teachers to work together, inspire one another and grow.  I am so proud of all the hard work I see teachers do and am so honored to represent them!

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL SCHOOL YEAR!
