MICHIGAN DIGITAL LEARNING CONFERENCE

Today I presented at the Michigan Digital Learning Conference at the Macomb Intermediate School District.  It is always so great to meet other educators and share ideas!

At this conference everyone had a chance to:

  • Explore, examine, and learn when, where and how to integrate digital learning into classroom and professional learning.
  • See how to individualize and personalize learning for ALL students at all levels of achievement.
  • Learn about technology tools that can effectively and easily integrate into lessons that support the common core curriculum.
  • Learn ways to enhance blended learning through the use of digital technology tools and learn how to successfully use technology and data to inform instruction.
  • Network with other educators interested in technology as a tool for student centered learning

I presented at 10:35 on Using (and reusing) Google Forms in Exciting and Practical Ways.  I was excited to see a full room at my session and to be able to share some ideas that are really working for me.  I talked about 7 ways that I use Google Forms in my classroom – from exit tickets to a digital dropbox to self-grading quizzes.   The things I talked about all intertwine with research-based strategies, but using this technology makes it easier and faster for teachers as well as more engaging for students.  I had awesome feedback after and a lot of teachers seemed excited!  Hearing teachers say they are going to take this back to their classroom to use and to also share with other teachers makes it so worth while.

While I was here, I also had an opportunity to go to several other sessions where I took away a lot of great ideas to use.  I cannot say enough how important I believe conferences like this or even ones in a district or building are.  Getting teachers together to share what works is invaluable!
