GVSU Fire Up Conference

Yesterday I was the keynote speaker at GVSU for their Fire Up Conference which is for all West Michigan student teachers.  What a great opportunity to share and learn!  I spoke to the group of around 450 students in the Field House – telling them a little of my story and then 3 things that they must remember as they go out teaching:  1) have and show your passion  2) perseverance  and 3) constant professional growth.   My hope is that I touched some of these young people as they go forth and that they will remember these 3 pieces of advice.

I also presented at a session where I taught about using Google Forms in the classroom.  My group was so excited about what they learned!  I love presenting real practical applications and things that work well for me.  That is one of the great things about my job this year – being able to reach beyond my own classroom and school and hopefully give teachers tools to help their students be more successful.  How fulfilling!
